Natural Honey

Infused Honey: A Flavorful Twist

Infused honey is simply honey that has been enhanced with the flavor of other ingredients, such as herbs, spices, fruits, or even vegetables.

This process imparts a unique and delicious taste to the honey, making it a versatile ingredient for cooking, baking, and enjoying on its own.

How is it made?

There are generally two methods to infuse honey:

  • Cold infusion: This method involves combining honey with your desired ingredients in a jar and letting it sit at room temperature for several weeks. The flavors gradually infuse into the honey.
  • Hot infusion: This method involves gently heating the honey with the ingredients, allowing the flavors to extract more quickly. However, heating honey can affect its natural enzymes, so some prefer the cold infusion method.

Popular Infusions

The possibilities for infused honey are endless, but here are some common and delicious combinations:

  • Herbal infusions: Lavender, rosemary, thyme, chamomile
  • Spice infusions: Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, chili pepper
  • Fruit infusions: Lemon, orange, grapefruit, raspberry
  • Other infusions: Chocolate, coffee, vanilla
